The Cotswold Line Cycle Route is a National Cycle Network-standard route from Worcester to Oxford, running parallel to the Cotswold Line railway.
Connecting all the stations on the route with local communities and the Cotswolds' most popular tourist destinations, it runs through beautiful countryside on a series of quiet lanes.
It links with existing and proposed National Cycle Network routes, and is designed to be both safe and within the reach of the average cyclist - even over the Cotswold hills. With a station every few miles, it is suitable both for first-time recreational cyclists and for experienced tourers; you only need cycle as far as you like. Every section has been ridden and refined until arriving at the quietest, most enjoyable and most practical route.
Developed by the Charlbury Cycling Group with support and encouragement from Sustrans and First Great Western, the route would encourage sustainable tourism and utility cycling for little more than the cost of signage and publicity.
The project is under development and we will be posting regular updates on this website. For more information, contact info@cotswoldcycling.com, or Charlbury Cycling Group, 11 Market Street, Charlbury, Oxfordshire OX7 3PH.
We have a detailed Route Plan which we will be pleased to supply to potential partners on request.
